Fare Thee Well My Child
Time surrenders to no one
So the years have quickly passed.
You've grown into a young adult,
Seemingly, much to fast
I remember holding you as a newborn,
Tucking you into bed at night
The nest is only confining you,
For you're ready to take flight
Some moments could have been better,
While others I'd never trade.
Circumstances often made it difficult,
In the role that I played.
But everything that you've accomplished,
Shall make you standout in a crowd.
Now as you go, always know,
That you've made me proud.
Fare thee well my child,
You have blossomed on this day.
Leaving your childhood days behind,
Wings now wisk you away.
As you fly, new open sky,
May you attain all you hope to find.
Fare thee well my child,
You will be on my mind.
